Luís Cristóvão dos Santos

Luís Cristóvão dos Santos, also known as Ziul, (Pesqueira, 25 of December of 1916 - Recife, 30 of July of 1997) was a folklorist and Brazilian journalist.
He studied in Pesqueira and Recife and concluded a bachelors degree in Legal and Social Sciences at the Law school of Recife, in 1944. He was Attorney general in the diverse Comarcas of the Pernambuco Hinterland and retired as lawyer Ex-officio. Writer since adolescent, Luís Cristóvão Santos also was a journalist (at Diario de Pernambuco and Jornal do Commercio amongst several others) and published many works in the national and Italian press. He was a member of the Academy Pernambucana of Letters in the chair nº4 and protector of the chair nº1 in the Academy Pesqueirense of Letters. He received the Prize Othon Bezerra de Mello, of the Academy Pernambucana of Letters twice, with books Ways of the Pajeú (chronic, 1955, preface of Jose Lins of Rego) and Ways of the Hinterland (chronic, 1970, preface of Mauro Mota).
He still contributed for elaboration of some national films on the Brazilian hinterland. Recognized in Italy as studious of Frei Damião for the Order of the Frades Lesser Capuchinhos in Sicily.
