Edwin Munoz (born Edwin Ulisses Munoz Barajas Lieberman), was born on June 15, 1990, in Newport Beach, CA to Mario Arturo Munoz and Maria Barajas Lieberman-Casiraghi. He currently attends Segerstrom Fundamental High School in Orange County, CA. After matriculating high school, he will pursue a career in journalism.

Munoz is of mixed racial and ethnic background. Munoz' mother was born in Buenos Aires, but lived in Mexico City for a majority of her life before immigrating to the United States. Munoz' maternal lineage is of German-Jewish and Spaniard/Italian origin. Munoz' father is of Mexican Zambo descent. Munoz said of his heritage that he was a "mix of everything".
