How about poorest in comparison to cost of living? The Stub Maker - 7/27/2005 10:57 EST

I think Benton Harbor should be added in the list too. Their per-capital is less then 9000 Chaldean 17:54, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
But Benton Harbor, Michigan is a city not a county. I thought five California counties: Alpine, Inyo, Mono, Trinity and Imperial would fall into the category of the 100 poorest list, except they are the state's poorest counties. The poverty rate in Imperial County is over 25% above national average, the other four counties are less than 10% and these are rural areas (but Imperial County in the Cal. desert and Mexican border areas has the most people) with little or no economic infrastructure. But poverty rates in rural parts of Cal. aren't as severe although the Sierras and Deserts are generally have more low-income by percentage, and the majority of residents aren't classified in the official poverty range. + 71.102.53.48 (talk) 11:11, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
