[edit] History
The band was founded in December 2004 by Emi Jarvi and J Carmichael, who had already released an album on J's own Take 1 label. One of the reasons the band was formed was so that Emi and J could have a band to back up their entry to the forthcoming Fibbers Battle of the Bands in early 2005.

[edit] Trivia
| Trivia sections are discouraged under Wikipedia guidelines. The article could be improved by integrating relevant items and removing inappropriate ones. |
- Emi married J in the summer of 2005. Lowground played at their wedding.
- Emi has been known to play the mandolin at gigs.
- J normally plays an acoustic guitar. This sometimes causes problems at gigs when the stage monitors are too loud. The monitor sound resonates in the guitar and causes a strange audio feedback.
- Ben has a steadily rotating collection of keyboards in the quest to find the perfect keyboard, but so far he has stuck to a 1996 Korg X5 for gigs.
- Ben married his fiancee Jill in August 2006. Lowground also performed at their wedding, with the groom taking time off from socialising to join the band on stage.
- Andrew played a djembe drum at their first gig.
- J Carmichael, Ben Weaver, Tom Wise and Andrew Davies have all studied electronics at the University of York.
- Andrew left the band mid-2006 to spend a year teaching in Senegal.
- Emi and J still produce music on their own and sometimes perform solo material at gigs.
- New bass player Tom Wise is a fluent Welsh speaker, having had all of his schooling in Welsh until the age of 16.
- Tom Wise is a professional sound engineer and used to engineer for the band, before being asked to join as bass player when Andrew left.
