Someone has added Hair Metal to the genres and changed the text to say this is the what LH were (as opposed to Hard Rock). I think it's a reach to describe them as Hair Metal, but won't argue that it could be added to the Genre list. However, it certainly isn't thier defining genre so I've undone the copy edit. Hair Metal brings to mind the big arena rock of the likes of Bon Jovi or Cinderella, LH were a very different beast who moved in related but different circles.--ThePaintedOne (talk) 19:13, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Detailed History

I've transcribed a summary of the bands history from the lengthy accounts on the bands website. I've only been able to get as far as the third album at present, but will follow up with the balance soon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThePaintedOne (talkcontribs) 15:30, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

I've completed the transcription from Jizzy's history. I've also added as much info as I can on the tours of the last few years, this needs some more citations and in particular some info and when and how the band started touring again. I have to admit the date of 2004 is a guestimate on my part, hence I've put in a citation tag. I'm going to trawl about some news sites and see if I can fill in some of the gaps and add citations. Other than that, I think this is pretty much there.ThePaintedOne 18:56, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Ok, with just a bit of digging I've found citations for several tours going back to 2002, which looks to be when the band re-emerged. The citation from 2002 certainly suggests this. The modern section could certainly do with some filling in, as some of the citations are a bit thin.ThePaintedOne 19:32, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Note, just to clarrify the copyright situation. The history from Jizzy's record has not been copied, I have written original copy using his material as source.ThePaintedOne 19:00, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Support Acts

While it is relevent to list the support acts in current tours, and I can appreciate those acts wanting the information on the page, can it please be kept brief and to the point. The page is principly about Love/Hate and information on other acts, other than to mention thier connection to Love/Hate, is not appropriate or on topic. Detailed information should be put on those bands own pages and this article linked to them.

This is not directed at any particular band or edit, but some of the recent edits have veered towards promotion for the support acts, which is not relevent for an article on Love/Hate.

Thanks, —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThePaintedOne (talkcontribs) 08:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] GA review

  • The lead is too short and does not summarize the article - WP:LEAD. Include notable albums/members/sales/style as done in Radiohead and Metallica
  • A picture of an album cover should not be used for the infobox
  • band from the early 90s - the infobox says 1985
  • Remove the credit thing from history
  • when Jizzy Pearl (real name Jim Wilkinson) joined Jon E. Love, Skid Rose and Joey Gold - what does everyone play?
  • out a 4 track EP - 4-> four - link EP
  • song they played at the time called Love and Hate - songs should be on "quotes"
  • elease of the album Love - albums should be in italics
  • 1987, the band - In 1987?
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master & Critters 2 - italics for movies
  • he band then put together a 4 track demo - 4 -> four
  • Italics for albums in titles
  • It reached #154 on the billboard 200. Billboard 200 - reference?
  • Hollywood Sign Stunt lowercase s for stunt
  • In 1997 comma after years
  • 1989 - 1991 -> 1989–1991
  • a 2 week tour in Germany - 2 -> two
  • 2002 - present is poorly written
  • February 24, 2007 full date needs wikilinked
  • .[11]. remove fullstop after reference
  • Principal Members -> Current members
  • Additional support was from Gypsy Pistoleros[ - missing a fullstop on this sentence and needs to be rewritten
  • Other Members -> Former members - tell us what they played
  • References need to be formatted to include publisher, retrieve date, date etc, see Metallica#References to see how they should look and Template:Cite web for the template which helps
  • with Glam Metal at its height - glam metal should not be capitalized
  • Words like "popular", "classic" are POV and opinion
  • fire dept - department
  • One sentence paragraphs are missing fullstops

The one sentence paragraphs need to be merged and rewritten as its a bad case of proseline "In 1987..In 1990", numbers below ten written as words, references formatted. More references like using billboard.com for the chart position. If you disagree with this review feel free to submit it to WP:GAR, thanks. M3tal H3ad (talk) 05:01, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the review and extensive feedback. I'll try and address as many of these as I can over the next few weeks. Sources are hard to come by as the band had only fleeting and limited mainstream popularity, but I'll see what I can do to improve them.--ThePaintedOne (talk) 11:29, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
