The lovefest is a day long live festival showcasing local musicians held in Swinford County Mayo. The festival was set up by local youths in 2003 and has developed into one of the years foremost rock festivals west of the Shannon.[1] The festival is run by volunteers, is free of charge, and is generously funded by Swinford business people.[citation needed] It is estimated that a crowd of over 1500 attended the festival in 2006.[1]

[edit] 2003 Festival
Four Stone Seven, Lewis Fester,Horsebox, Kelvrin, Blackstar, The Sigmund Froyd Experience and Plink Plink Fizz were among the bands that played in the first Lovefest in Julians of Midfield.
[edit] 2004 Festival
Horsebox, Drunken Monkies, Shed, and many other bands played in 2004, this was the first year that Lovefest was held outdoors in Walshe's field.

Shake Well B4 Use, Drunken Monkies, Retribution, 3rd Drive, Holocaust, Feed My Addication, Parallax Error, Controlled Hysteria, Raddar, Electric Messiah, Avasia, Sleeping with Colly's Sister, Lebowski, Shed, Daikini, Claire and Ruth, and Horsebox were the acts that played on the 7th of August, 2005.
[edit] 2006 Festival
Aftershock, Thoughtless, Angel Interceptor, Turbulence, Kumari, Parallax Error, The Mouse Experience, Drunken Monkies, Mike Lord, Mike Jack Brian and Bill, Sexy Little Boys, Horsebox and Finale were the bands that played the main stage. This year saw the addition of a dance tent to the event.
