Love in the First is the debut album by American R&B artist LATIF. The album was released on September 23, 2003, on the Motown label. It peaked at #67 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

The first and only single, "I Don't Wanna Hurt You" was written by Sean Garrett About the creation of this song, Latif says that Garrett:
"Listened to what I was going through and translated it into this beautiful song."[1]
One notable song on the album that was not released is "Rain Will Go Away", which is about feelings after a break up:
"It's about my wish for an ex-girlfriend to also find love, because she's beautiful and deserves it."[1]
Still another notable song on this album is "It's Alright", which is more upbeat than the other two, and is about it being alright if him and a girl break up, if she doesn't like his friends.[1]
