Love Letters (song)

"Love Letters" is a 1945 popular song with music by Victor Young and lyrics by Edward Heyman. The song appeared, without lyrics, in the movie of the same name, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song for 1945.
The song has been performed many times, but the best-known versions were made by Dick Haymes (in 1945), by Ketty Lester (in 1962, a top five hit), by Elvis Presley (in 1966) and by Alison Moyet (1987). The song has also been recorded by Cilla Black for her 1965 album Cilla, Sandie Shaw for her 1965 album Sandie, Sinéad O'Connor for her 1992 album Am I Not Your Girl? and Etta James, for her 2001 album Blue Gardenia.
A version by The Lettermen appeared on their 1966 album A New Song for Young Love. It was also released as the b-side of their single "I Only Have Eyes for You."
David Lynch used Ketty Lester's version in the soundtrack of his 1986 film, Blue Velvet.
