[edit] Tambiah Article
Hmmm...the article for Stanley Tambiah doesn't really make much mention of his work on Buddhism. Maybe that needs to be remedied...

[edit] Fig-eating Slop
Hooray! It looks like the Richard Gombrich article has been cured of its sickeningly sycophantic tone.

[edit] Back at it
The J. W. de Jong article seems to be finishing up pretty nicely; the Gombrich article needs to be completely retooled. In the mean time, here's a brief hit list of Indologists who still don't have pages:
Helmuth von Glasenapp
J.Ph. Vogel
Erich Frauwallner
Otto Strauss
Otto Stein
Oskar von Hinüber
Bimala C. Law
Padmanabh S. Jaini
And a list of some Indologist articles which barely make it to stub status:
Hermann Oldenberg
Paul Deussen
K. R. Norman
Moriz Winternitz
Louis Renou
Sylvain Lévi
Étienne Lamotte

[edit] A bit of a quandary...
I've been working on biographical articles for scholars in Buddhist Studies for a while now, and just lately I've run into the problem of how to group them all. I've simply been categorizing them as "Indologists" since no "Buddhologist" category exists and I'm hesitant to create one. As it stands now, some scholars are found under lists of "Orientalists," some under lists of "Tibetologists," and some under "Indologists." All of these categories have there problems (Indology and Tibetology are plagued by the usual demons which trouble categories in Area Studies, Orientalism is now a wicked thing and I don't think that the title of "Orientalist" can be rehabilitated without a good deal of effort). So...any ideas?
