An acre-wide lotus bed in the west end Echo Park Lake in Los Angeles CA erupts into pinks and golds of the lotus flower amidst the backdrop of the rich greenery of the lotus plants during the months of July to September. The annual blooming of the lotuses in Echo Park is the centerpiece of the City of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreations' Lotus Festival each July, which celebrates the people and cultures of Asia and Pacific Islands.
