Issues relating to Cornish politics should be restricted to those pages that directly deal with these issues (such as Constitutional status of Cornwall, Cornish self-government movement, etc) and should not overflow into other articles. Local rumor has it that the name Lostwithiel is reputed to come from the fact that it is frequently covered in mist, so it is the lost - village (withiel). Anyone any idea about this? --Salix alba (talk) 02:24, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

The etymology is lostwydiel or some such thing, meaning place at the tail-end of the forest in Cornish.
