Los Haitises National Park is a national park located to the northeast of the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It is a protected national forest with little road leading to it. There have been lot of ecotourism in the last decade, due to its remote location and protected status, limited number tourists are allowed in this virgin forest.
However, a private highway is being constructed through the mountain and a new airport is being build in the city of Samana to provide better access to this remote location. These lands in the province of Monte Plata are cattle ranching, sugarcane driving economy, tourists will find a vast valley of many road use for sugarcane transport leading to many places.
