[edit] Bears' Website
The previous web address before my initial edit (14/2/2006) was "http://www.bearsfaction.com/". Currently this page specifically says, "This website has now been transferred." It instead redirects a visitor just to the Bears' Forum at "http://www.gazimoff.com/". However the address that I posted ("http://www.bears.org.uk/lair/") is an existing homepage for the faction, and includes a link to the forum as well. Sadly I missed that it had not been updated since 2003 and that the forum link is broken. (Thank you JiFish for the initial fix.) I do note that websites for Lorien Trust groups change fairly often due to turnover of members and varying degrees of keeness amongst that membership; so I expect that these links will eventually become out of date. - Good grief, that's going back a bit! I used to run and maintain both the sites you mentioned, until i ended up taking a break for about two years. You can find it now at http://www.bearsfaction.org.uk (no longer maintained by me)Gazimoff (talk) 01:56, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Changes made on 12/7/2007
[That's a little endian date by the way.]
- Charity: I have no strict documentary evidence for this. Just anecdotal evidence from people who have been involved in the LT since its creation (and indeed involved in creating it). Note that a trust that is a charity is not the same as a charitable trust.
- Event size: I removed, "The largest event had 3,500 people in attendance," since it is entirely redundant following the referenced, "attracting around 4,000 people to the larger events".
- Factions: There was no particular reason for them to be listed in the order they were, so I put them in alphabetic order. Also the list serves little purpose without any further description. I have added a brief few words based on my own experiences and the LT descriptions (http://www.lorientrust.com/gameworld/campaign/factions/factionscontents.htm and linked pages). I expect these to be changed by folks more knowledgeable on each faction. If you're going to edit these, please keep it brief!
- I realise that the Harts used to be Lions, so technically the Harts share the Lions' background, but most readers will be unaware of this subtle distinction and probably won't care. Feel free to argue the point on this talk page.
- Geherjiwog: I removed this creature as not being notable. It was added by 86.128.115.92. I did find one reference to it elsewhere (http://members.cosplay.com/costume/17237) from which I surmise that this was an individual creature played by one person rather than a notable race. I'm not aware of there ever having been any Garthim, but it's not unreasonable, and they are a notable fictional race. In order to preserve the nice alliteration (in spelling if not in pronunciation) I added Genie as a third example (who as magical beings would indeed come under "Other").
- Other: I also fixed some links.
Note that with Rules 3 the classifications of race have altered as indeed have which races are automatically playable. I haven't done any changes in support of this. Primarily because that level of detail is not pertinent to a high level article, and the list given is more useful to the casual reader. Someone wishing to do more in depth research should be consulting the rules on the LT website anyway.
Oh, and technically the Mages' Guild don't necessarily handle the spell cards any more. Nowadays it is sometimes the Incantors' Guild and sometimes the Healers' Guild. But I didn't change that. It seemed a minor point to me.

- Nice updates. Kudos. --JiFish(Talk/Contrib) 09:32, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- I can probably help with some more background/information/etc, but I'd be keen to have it peer reviewed to make sure it's neutral, useful information. Shout if you'd like itGazimoff (talk) 02:06, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup and Expansion
I'd like to do some cleanup and expansion on this article, although I may have a slight COI as someone who attends these events. Would consensus be happy with me making these changes, and would anyone be prepared to review them for balance? Many thanks! --Gazimoff (talk) 09:33, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- By the very nature of the LT events, most of the people who can/would write about them also attend or are staff. I'd happily review, but I'll have the same COI - I'm staff (first aid crew) there. --RedHillian (talk) 15:23, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
