This article is good as far as it goes, but misses a great deal. I do not have the reference sources to fill in the gaps. I think there is a work by Arthur Raistrick, Two centuries of industrial welfare, dealing with the company in the north of England. Peterkingiron 17:59, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I thought this had been designated a stub, which it certainly is; I have now (re?)-designated as such. Peterkingiron 18:03, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Once again, I have had to reinstate the description "stub". The present version focuses on two periods of the company's history, but omits a great deal of detail that ought to be included.
