Longcross railway station is situated close to the village of Longcross in Surrey, England. It is served by South West Trains, with just 7 trains each weekday towards Reading and 8 trains towards London Waterloo. This is a considerable increase from the 2 trains each weekday in either direction before late 2006.

The station is reached along a dirt track from the B386, or by crossing Wentworth Golf Course. The station has experienced decline in use since the transfer of the ex-Military site variously termed MoD Longcross and DERA Chertsey to the private company QinetiQ.

In the Autumn 2006 a more regular service was provided at Longcross station, with many trains making unscheduled stops. This was due to filming at the QinetiQ site for a new BBC drama, HolbyBlue, a spin-off of Holby City. Three further dramas also used Longcross for filming in 2006: a political drama made by World Productions; Jekyll by Hartswood Films; and the second series of Hyperdrive, a BBC comedy series. There are also proposals to increase services at Longcross should a business park be constructed nearby.

TV show "Echo Falls" is currently in production at Longcross

[edit] Services

The station is the least used on the South West Trains network. Most trains stop at morning peak time or in the evening, apart from a single service around lunchtime and in the afternoon in each direction. Trains to London Waterloo stop or pass through around xx.16 or xx.46, while trains to Reading stop or pass through at xx.05 and xx.35. The nearest alternative station is at Sunningdale or Virginia Water.
