Long Project is a term used by fantasy author Sherwood Smith to describe her own deep-backstory work underlying her Sartorias-deles and Wren's World books.[1]
Other literary projects which are comparable to Smith's criteria for this term include:

- J.R.R. Tolkien's history of Arda, the backstory of middle-earth portrayed in The Lord of the Rings, etc.
- Frank L. Baum's Land of Oz.
- J.K. Rowling's history and culture of the Wizarding World.
