[edit] History

Route 272 began in 2002 to replace the former route H40 (which was introduced in 1989 as London Regional Transport's new flat-fare system), between Turnham Green and Chiswick Grove Park, it continues from Turnham Green to Shepherd's Bush Green via The Vale, East Acton and White City Station.

Route 440 was also introduced in 2002 to replace the H40, between Turnham Green and Park Royal Asda, continues from Park Royal to Stonebridge Park Station and from Turnham Green to Stamford Brook Garage.

On 26 May 2007 NCP-Challenger gained the contract to run route 272 from London United, at NCP's new Park Royal garage using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart single deckers.
