From I.L. E. Olsen: Lommedalen is not a town, not even a village, but a country area with scattered farms and houses. Bærums Verk is parted from Lommedalen as a village. Here was the Ironworks situated.
I added a note about the resurrection of the pilgrim trail to Nidarosdommen in 1997. You can see little wooden signs marking the trail in the woods. I agree that Baerums Verk is the closest thing resembling a centralized town. But Lommedalen does have a few businesses, and many sections are more suburban than country.
