Lohagara is located at 23.1833° N 89.6625° E . It has 36853 units of house hold and total area 290.83 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Lohagara has a population of 208248. Males constitute are 50.18% of the population, and females 49.82%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 102841. Lohagara has an average literacy rate of 38.2% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
