Talk:Logical Volume Manager (Linux)

Why does "ivman" redirect to this page? Not only are they mostly unrelated (both relate to hardware in linux, I suppose...) but ivman isn't otherwise mentioned here.

If I have several physical disks forming one logical volume, what happens if one of those physical disks breaks? Do I lose all of my data on that logical volume or just the data that was stored on the broken disk?

[edit] HP-UX LVM

LVM is a HP-UX product - and in fact, the HP-UX page connects to this page via "Logical Volume Manager". Certainly, LVM under Linux is worth an entry - but there should be an entry for LVM under HP-UX too, da? Why isn't there one? Need I make one? Or did I miss something?  DavidDouthitt  (Talk) 00:54, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

This page could really use an image showing the different LVM "Layers" (PV,VG,LV) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.151.254.241 (talk) 20:07, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
