[edit] Bucktown 1
Bucktown should probably be separate from logan square.
- Bucktown is an unofficial neighborhood located within the Logan Square community area. Community areas are officially designated and are used by the census. Matthew.haak 01:21, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bucktown 2
If the "Logan Square community" was originally understood as an area that encompassed Bucktown, those days are gone. As it stands now, Logan Square and Bucktown are two, separate neighborhoods. I'm in favor of a separate Bucktown page.
- The Chicago Dept. of Planning and Development defines 77 official community areas within the City of Chicago. One of those areas is called Logan Square, which is what this article is about. Within each community area are a number of neighborhoods loosely defined by history, community members, chambers of commerce, and real-estate developers (among others). Within the Logan Square community area, there are neighborhoods for Belmont Gardens, Logan Square, Palmer Square, Bucktown, and Avondale; and there may be others. Unless there is a significant amount of information for the Bucktown neighborhood, it would make sense to me to leave it under its relevant community area. Perhaps more emphasis can be made in the article between the community area and its associated neighborhoods. --Mindfrieze 15:10, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Avondale
Just to be clear, Avondale is a community area the size of Logan Square, the two are not interchangeable. Carter
- I don't think anyone ever said the Avondale community area is interchangeable with the Logan Square community area, but just like Logan Square, Avondale is both an official community area (located north of the Logan Square community area) and also a neighborhood. While most of the Avondale neighborhood is within the Avondale community area, at least one boundary definition shows that the extreme southeast tip of the neighborhood crosses into the Logan Square community area. --Mindfrieze 23:16, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
