MF GAMLE LOFOTFERGA, the first car ferry in the Lofoten Islands. To day it is preservet boat, private owned and it is used in charter for groups, to for example the Trollfjord, for fishng tours, Orca & Sea eagle safari.
SHORT HISTORY October 1956: MF Lofotferje II was delivered by Em.Moen & Søn Båtbyggeri, Risør. The assignment was given by Lofoten Ferjeselskap A/L. The ferry was that time licensed for 100 passengers, 2 of 5-ton trucks, 1 bus and 4 cars. It provided regular service Napp – Lilleeidet between Vestvågøy and Flakstad. It was in regular service until 1970. From that time the ferry was relief- and reserve ferry up to 1977.
August 1994: The ferry received the prize of most successful restoring of an object during “Kystens Landsstevne” * in Sommarøy.

Januar 2001: Nina and Johnny Storvik bought MF Gamle Lofotferga form Kalle AS. The ferry still sails as a charter boat, the season lasting form March to October.
January 2001: The ferry achieves a status of a preserved ferry from the National Archives.
2003: The ferry is awarded a certificate of quality “Olavsrosa” form the Norwegian Cultural Heritage
2004: The ferry will be placed as a member of “Norsk Fartøyvern Forening” NFFF (Association for Preservation og Norwegian Ships).
2008: Still going stong as a fully licended charter boat with base in Kabelvåg in Lofoten, Norway. http://www.lofotferga.no
