- My name is José-Manuel Benito Álvarez, teacher of Secondary Education in the Instituto Emperador Carlos, of Medina del Campo. I'm interested in History, Art and, above all, Prehistory. However, my knowledge of English is too low to write articles in depth. The same goes for my knowledge of HTML.
- My nickname refers to a fictional character that appears in the Star Trek: The Next Generation TV series. It is Jean-Luc Picard, the captain of the starship USS Enterprise-D, who was abducted and assimilated by the Borg community and designated their Locutus: spokesman. The adventures continues, but this is another story. So, I am a Trekkie.
- When I have not too much work and a little time, I try to continue my scientific investigation about the Lower Paleolithic in Spain. Specially the oldest lithic artifacts which the early man was knapped. My doctoral thesis was about the Acheulean in the valley of Duero river, and obtained the "Extraordinary Doctorate Award" in the University of Salamanca.
- In my opinion, Wikipedia is an ideal procedure for developing my two vocations: first the teaching, second to make know the summing up of my research.
- Furthermore, I, personally, recomend Wikipedia to my pupils as a tool to look up any information.
- In the Wikipedia in english my fundamental aim will be help in some translations, as well to obtain information and link it with the spanish Wikipedia
- NOTE: Sorry, but my level in english is too low...
