When you use this template, you must convert spaces in the digital id into periods. For example, "Digital ID: prokc 21468"[1] becomes {{LOC-image|id=prokc.21468}}.

This template's HDL lookup only works for images from the Library of Congress's Prints and Photographs Division (the loc.pnp in the URL).
