looking to see if there was any debate over the name 'Monmouthshire'. From [1], we have Roger Evans, the MP for Monmouth, wishing for the name "Monmouthshire" to be used for the unitary. He claims that '"Monmouthshire" is what resonates with my constituents. They do not want the simple title "Monmouth". '. Paul Murphy claims that he and Neil Kinnock would find the appropriation of the name offensive, but Evans says "We must consider modern reality, which is that a division exists between the urban and rural areas in our part of the world. Local people want to call the area Monmouthshire. ". Morwen - Talk 10:48, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
