Loaded (song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Loaded" is a song recorded by the rock band Primal Scream. It was the first single released from the group's 1991 breakthrough album, Screamadelica. It features an audio sample from the Peter Fonda film The Wild Angels. A sample of Andie MacDowell from the film Sex, Lies and Videotape is also used ("That's beautiful... That's really beautiful.")

Musically, Primal Scream sampled their own work, using the bassline and piano melody from "I'm Losing More Than I'll Ever Have"; a song from their eponymous Primal Scream. However, these samples do not form the main structure of the song.

Also of note is the song "In 'N' Out of Grace" by the grunge band Mudhoney, which features the same audio sample from The Wild Angels during its intro.

This single was actually released before the album. It was released in March 1990, 19 months before the arrival of the album in October 1991 and was around 3 minutes shorter than the album version.

It was used in the fourth installment of VH1's "The Drug Years"

"Loaded" reached #16 on the UK singles chart.
