Loa Stefansdottir

Ólöf Stefánsdóttir, commonly known as Loa Stefansdottir (born in Reykjavik, Iceland, September 17, 1970), is a singer-songwriter, known for her pure sound and intuitive improvisations.

She has performed in venues from Denmark, Iceland, Central America, Canada, and the United States where in Chicago (1995-98), she was seen in jazz clubs such as the Bop Shop, the Raw Bar, and the Green Mill with her band, the Icebreakers. She moved to Copenhagen in 1977 and started her training in Danmarks Radios Pigekor (Denmark's Radio Girls Choir) when she was 12 years old. Later she joined a thirteen piece funk band, Field Funk, touring the Danish summer festivals.
