Liza Balkan is a Dora Award winning Canadian actress , director, writer, teacher and dancer .
Her directing credits include Tapestry New opera's OPERA BRIEF'S 6 &7, SKYLIGHT and TRYING ( Persephone Theatre), HALF AN HOUR
( Shaw Festival Director's Project), BUNNICULA ( Theatre Athena), ORCHIDS ( Marquis Ent.), GOOD WOMAN OF SETZUAN and the premiere of ENEMIES ( Ryerson Theatre School), PAVLOV'S BROTHER ( Toronto Fringe). she received Toronto 's Dora Mavor Moore Award for her performance in Still The Night ( Theatre Passe Muraille/ Tova Ent/Tapestry/National Tour. other perfmances include SYLVIA ( Belfry theatre), iT'S ALL TRUE (GCTC), THE WINTER'S TALE ( National Arts Centre) , THE STRONGER VARIATIONS (Theatre Rusticle /Harbourfront), GOLDA'S BALCONY ( WJT), WEST SIDE STORY ( Kennedy Centre , Wash.
