Administrative center - Liubashivka. The district is primarily Ukrainophone.

Important rivers within the Liubashivskyi Raion include the Kodyma and Tiligul rivers.

Through the territory of the Liubashivskyi Raion pass the railroad routes from Odessa to Kirovograd. It is 2 railway station (Zaplazy, Liubashivka).

The district lies also on 2 international highways - E95 : Saint Petersburg –Kiev – Odessa M05E95; and route E577: Chişinău (Moldova) - Kirovograd M13E577.
