[edit] Greetings everyone viewing my welcome page!

I am a wikipedia fan. I love it, use it all the time to look anything and everything up. When I have a spare couple of hours to kill, I love nothing more than passing those hours being a literaturegeek and trying to expand on lacking areas of wiki articles and fix errors etc. I have interests in pharmacology, drug dependence and some general health issues. I also enjoy politics classing myself as having mostly libertarian beliefs but I can be swayed on some issues. Don't get me started on politics though. :=) I do tend to keep my political beliefs on issues private. If you have any suggestions or comments on my edits please feel free to post on my discussion page. Keep it nice. Friendly diplomatic discussions are a must and personal attacks are a must not. I look forward to chatting to my fellow wikipedians on my discussion if the need arises.

I work in addictions. I come from a medical family with two immediate family members being national health service physicians, whom help me track down research papers. I have a good knowledge in addictions and an extensive knowledge of benzodiazepines. My main areas of interest and knowledge are tolerance, dependence, withdrawal, side effects and pharmacological and psychopharmacological properties of drugs. I have a good general knowledge of mechanism of actions of various drugs particularly psychotropic drugs and illicit drugs. I enjoy trying to expand articles which are lacking in key areas. Often articles may have good information on say special precautions but is lacking in a contraindications. When I see this, I get to work using my knowledge and resources to try and enhance the article, always using credible citations.
