[edit] Two Thomas Lawrences

Thomas Lawrence is shown as being Mayor for 1727-1729, 1734-1735, 1749-1750, 1753-1754 (died in office), 1758-1759, 1764-1765. That's 6 terms including 2 after death. Thomas_Lawrence_(mayor) in the text claims he was a 5 term mayor, dying in 1754. But the link box at the bottom claims he served 1727-1729, 1734-1735, 1737-1738, 1749-1750, 1758-1759 (one term after death). Which is it?? Skabat169 17:33, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Evidently there were two Thomas Lawrences who were mayors of Phila. I think it's correct to say that the first one was a five-time mayor, as the Official Phila. web site has him as serving two one-year terms (i.e., he was elected twice) in the period 1727-29: so, 1727-1729, 1734-1735, 1749-1750, 1753-1754 (died in office). My usual source sites for these colonial officials (FamousAmericans.com/Virtualology.com and PoliticalGraveyard.com) seem to have nothing on either of these guys. I'll correct the Thomas Lawrence (mayor) page.--BillFlis 18:00, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
This page lists a Thomas Lawrence as an early student (non-graduate) of the University of Pennsylvania.--BillFlis 15:56, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
