Talk:List of law enforcement agencies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
To be added:
- Postal inspection service (don't know which department it belongs to)
- The ones listed in http://groups.google.fr/group/alt.law-enforcement/browse_frm/thread/6975005f32fc7be9/85aeb6d361965c84 and http://mitglied.lycos.de/harueckner/us-enforcement/ Apokrif 22:03, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
- I'd also like to know which department the Office of Criminal Enforcement, Forensics and Training (EPA) belongs to(Interior?), so that I can add it to the list.
-
- Postal Inspection Service: From the offical webpage webpage, it seems that postal inspectors arte considered federal law enforcement agents and are headed by a chief postal inspector who is selected by the Postmaster-General. Since the USPS is a government owned corporation they should be listed under the Federal agencies list as an independent agency.
- Office of Criminal Enforcement, Forensics and Training: The EPA is considered an independent federal agency (similar to NASA, CIA...etc), and thus does not belong to any department much like the USPS. -Loren 22:52, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Rewrite in progress
I am doing a major rewrite and restructure of this article. For the time being, if you have any suggestions or corrections to make, please post them here so that I can properly include them as I go. Pee Tern (talk) 01:21, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
