Urdu is written in Nastaliq, which is sufficiently different from Arabic that it should probably be considered a separate script.

Nastaliq is a calligraphic writing style of the Arabic script. How do you consider it to be a sufficiently different script? –jonsafari 01:55, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
