Talk:List of handhelds with Wi-Fi connectivity
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The article has some devices that do not have WiFi, and others that are not handhelds. Either these need to be removed, or better, change the name of the article to something more less exclusionary. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk)
- Shoudl we count the T-Mobile hotspot at home phones that seem to be able to use WiFi for voice, but not for internet connectivity? Mathiastck 17:17, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] PocketPC/SmartPhone
with the HTCs on the list what stops every other pocketpc with WiFi from being listed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by TMV943 (talk • contribs) 02:44, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure about smart phones one way or the other. But doesn't it seem a big rediculous to include the Zunes given that they don't actually have any browser? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JeffBurdges (talk • contribs) 19:50, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Release Date (US)
I must ask why this article has a column of Release Date (US), when a lot of these devices are released in other territories first and many have never and may never be released in the US. Shouldn't it just be a standard release date for the first release date as this information would be more useful and prevent lots of blanks, plus Wikipedia is not US centric, it's a global encyclopaedia. - Most likely because it was created by a wikipedian in the US. I don't see a problem with changing, I think the column should just be removed altogether. Gh5046 (talk) 19:44, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wlan encryption
I think that a column about if the devices support wlan encryption like wep and wap would be a good addition.--Henke37 (talk) 20:13, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- I think that, too. I was actually trying to look for handheld wireless security info from here, but it seems that the subject has only been suggested and yet to be written onto the page. It would be good if it includes WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK, WPA2, WPA2-PSK, and maybe more. Anyone here who have these devices to start with? —Kakero (talk) 00:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
