Just a reminder to include the Necromancers from “The Chronicles of Riddick” film.

[edit] Priority
It seems a lttle unfair to describe something from the sixties as "closely resemble[ing] the Borg." rather than t'other way round. Rich Farmbrough, 14:10 30 November 2006 (GMT).
[edit] Berserker
Removed from the article:
- "Berserker fiction written by Fred Saberhagen, beginning 1963; some of the protagonists closely resemble the Borg."
Which would these be, then? In the novels, the Berserkers are only interested in destroying all life, everywhere, not in assimilating it. -- The Anome 21:39, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bugs in Roughnecks
The bugs in roughnecks assimilate DNA from various species to mix and match making better or more useful mutations of themselves... would that apply? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.141.71.36 (talk) 21:41, 22 December 2006 (UTC).
[edit] Reavers
Do the Reavers from Firefly actually "assimilate" other races (apart from eating them that is)? I recall no indication in the TV series or Serenity that indicates that they increase their population by absorbing or converting others. I'll remove this unless a Firefly expert can verify this.
- In Bushwhacked, the surviver of the Reaver attack began imitating they're behavior. Mal believed that he was becoming a Reaver himself. However, given the movie's explanation of the Reaver's origin, it seems unlikely that he was a "true" Reaver. -- UncreativeNameMaker 09:06, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Speaking of Joss Whedon... would vampires (from all sources: Whedon, Anne Rice, Dracula), etc. fit the criteria for this list? --Canley 21:08, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Replicators
Should the Replicators be removed from this list? They assimilate technology, but not individuals. As their name suggest, they reproduce by building more of themselves. -- UncreativeNameMaker 09:34, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] In Real Life
Removed the following from the article:
- HairyDogTrumpet appears to be taking over the human population. This is a recent event and is being documented in his blog. He has currently been awake for 3 days and will not stop until the universe is solved. He is a founding member of a company named Embedded Technologies Corporation and is estimated to be worth more than $3 billion AUD.
Why is there a section called "In Real Life" in an article called "List of fictional assimilating races"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.6.125.24 (talk) 00:31, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
