Talk:List of euphonium players
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
To whoever keeps adding Tim Girling,
Look... while I fully respect the fact that Tim is your friend and you think he's a great player, inclusion in this list is based on objective criteria. Every single person on this list has or had a professional teaching and/or performing job; most have recorded solo albums. Virtually all are household names among the euphonium communities in their respective countries - if not internationally. Can you say the same for Tim Girling?
Also, consider this: at age 20, he would be the youngest person on this page by six years. The next youngest (David Childs and Matt Murchison) are internationally renowned soloists and clinicians. They have been invited to perform recitals all over the world, both have multiple solo CD's to their credit, and both are fully employed as professional teachers and players. The most cursory Google search will verify these statements. I'm sorry, but being first chair in a youth honors ensemble simply does not place Tim Girling anywhere near the company of these two, or anyone else on this list.
Wait 7, 10, 12 years, and see what happens. If he accomplishes the same things I have listed, come back and add him then. Wikipedia will still be around then.
