I dispute the reliability of this source. I do not believe anything on that website is peer reviewed. There is also a 15.63% margin of error between the two cited sources. -- Cat chi? 15:52, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

These information are provided by EU also. You could but Kurdish Institute is a foundation then it can't be laughable for this subject; thus these information generally accepted by more others sources.

Firstly, when we speak about a language and its speakers, we should necessarily include, even if they are on the moon, the geographical spread of the people without which, of course, that language cannot exist. Such an approach (which is of course scientific) includes also the speakers in Diaspora and on exile which is a common case with the Kurds as a result of the colonial domination on the Kurdish geography. Secondly, if we consider that the languages like Urdu, Azeri, Uzbek...etc. are Turkic languages, why then we cannot include the Kurds of other regions into the mappings of the Kurdish language speakers but rather bound the Kurdish language only with the Iraqi territory? I think the critiques which you make are more political rather than scientific or linguistic. If you consider the Kurds in Turkey as those that cannot speak their own native language (which is not the case of course) it means that they are really assimilated and a RESPONSIBLE person should take an action against such a fascism rather then denying the existence of the Kurds and the Kurdish language within the Turkish territory. That would also help you to get rid of your state-sponsored nationalistic paranoia. On the other hand, if you really that naïve in thinking that Kurds cannot speak their languages in Turkey, it means that you are really ignorant without having any knowledge of a people living beside you. Finally, if the Kurdish institute’s website is not a reliable resource, what is a reliable resource on Kurds then? Is it Turkish Historical Foundation (Türk Tarih Kurumu?), which was established by the young Turkish Republic at the time in order to fabric nationalistic legends and imaginary knowledge on the Turks and deny the existence of the minorities in Turkey in order to exclude them from the nationalistic narrative? If my last argument is not reliable for you, go then to read the seminal book of Sibel Bozdogan and Resat Kasaba on Turkish Modernity. If the Kurds are not reliable, these authors are your compatriots.

why is Georgia for example put in "Asia" and why is asia and the middle east seperated? Furthemore, Azerbaijan IS in the middle east which IS southwest ASIA. ASIa. ASia. Asia. asia.
