So, I think it would be great if people helped out this article by linking some of the movie titles to their seperate articles (as somebody did for the ancient period) (Molina1981 (talk) 00:01, 20 May 2008 (UTC))

[edit] A Few Issues and Questions

I believe there are a few "problems" with this page.

First of all, do animated films generally fall under the definition of a costume film? I would be tempted to omit them, but I understand that they could be considered as part of the category.

Second, the word 'drama' can pose a problem. What is the meaning of drama in this case? Fiction in general? If so, then there is no problem, but the word might lead to confusion with the common usage of 'drama' to refer to non-comedy films.

Third, the 1996 Romeo and Juliet film is listed, but the film is clearly set in modern times. While there is a ball scene with characters wearing costumes, I doubt this makes the film count as a costume drama film. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Puceron (talk • contribs) 04:44, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

I think animated films are fine because although they are not material costumes, they are still set in a certain period of time and the images are real to the era.

I do agree with the term "drama" being questioned. I thought period piece films might be a better title, but that was changed.
