Talk:List of capitals by country

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please keep this page limited to capitals only, with no references to larger cities; Wikipedia needs a list of just capitals in alphabetical order by country. If a country has more than one capital, list all of them, but don't bloat this page with references to larger cities. See List of capitals and largest cities by country if you're looking for that. [edit] Capitals of aspirant states

Dictionary definition: aspirant

I believe this entire section fails to meet WP:A (former WP:V) by nature. I have hence removed it. Aspirant states do not exist (defacto or not) hence why they are aspirant. Wikipedia is not a Cristal ball. -- Cat chi? 08:54, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] flags

how about adding flags to the list? 88.152.37.203 17:48, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

DO the lose links need to be sorted?

[edit] Countries Without Pages?

I was surprised to see that this list indicated that several countries didn't have their own wiki-pages. I figured that this must be a mistake. After a second or two of investigation I noticed that every country listed with two names (spelled in the respective language of that nation, and in English) wasn't linked to its own wiki-page. I also found that if the non-English spelling was deleted the problem resolved itself. Someone should 'resolve' all such problems... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dblecros (talkcontribs) 12:17, 16 May 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Bangkok

I really think that it should be noted that the capital of Thailand isn't bangkok, it's krung thep... 10.07.07 (british format)

They are the same. People in Thailand call their capital as Krung Thep while it is well-known as Bangkok in English.-- Hello World! 17:15, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Samoa

Someone is making changes on various pages to show the capital of Samoa as "Aszcakia". as I can find no other reference to this word, I'm reverting it to Apia. If you know better, please provide a reference. Rojomoke (talk) 13:06, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kosovo

I just read in the news this morning. Kosovo is now its own country. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rj1020 (talkcontribs) 21:51, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
