Is this article really meant for Wikipedia?

  • It is merely a list of famous black britons whom the authors have an interest in. Wikipedia pages should NOT be indexes!

Ludraman 20:49, 3 Mar 2004 (UTC) On second thoughts its fairly ok now. Ludraman | Talk 21:07, 15 Mar 2004 (UTC)

As an article, I think it's fine, but I'm concerned about the title. Should "black" really have a capital B? Deb 21:59, 3 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Maybe we should also be honest about what it's about, namely famous black Britons. "Black Britons" has a catchy ring to it, though. — Clarknova 04:16, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)

The thought behind creating this article was that it might help for people's homework - especially during something like black history month. Secretlondon 12:56, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)

why are we included in the black page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blancsurblanc (talkcontribs) 00:38, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

Deserves deletion. Where is the list of white britons. There isn't one because the whole concept is useless. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.104.140.145 (talk) 13:16, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Jasonrobinson.jpg

Image:Jasonrobinson.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] List of Black AND Mixed Race Britons

Many of the people listed are not true black Britons - they are mixed race. Why can't people just be straight about what they're talking about? - it causes less confusion! If they were put on a list of famous mixed race britons page, noone would be able to say anything, other than false accusations. We as mixed race people should have the right to determine how we're categorised. I don't see why the hell its up to white people or black people, as though they have a right over us. Right my arse! Anyway, some of the mixed people, especially before as of late, may have had white factors - by this i mean their conenctions with white people may have helped them in certain ways, whereas a primarily 'black' person most likely would have had a harder tiem from the whites. The mixeds in some cases would also have had difficulties from the black side. Also people then can't throw the notion into the can that 'they're half white, cause then they'll be stating the obvious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Invertedzero (talkcontribs) 01:34, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry i didn't read the introduction properly but scanned down. However some of what I mentioned still hold true. I'm a bit less concerned now that i've seen its been clearly mentioned in the introductory paragraph - my silly mistake. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Invertedzero (talkcontribs) 01:37, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
