[edit] Lylat Wars' rating source
Here. 60.226.175.68 07:21, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- From your own talkpage, posted by Misterkillboy. I'm not sure exactly how to handle source and such for this, but here's the post:
You seem to have an issue concerning Star Fox 64 and the OFLC database, in particular concerning it's rating on the List of Virtual Console games (Australia). As I have pointed out, the game does appear in the database, having been rated G8+ (now PG) in 1997, however you claim that its inevitable Virtual Console release has not been rated.
Unlike the ESRB or PEGI, as we have seen so far Australia's OFLC does not generally re-rate games already classified after the introduction of the classification guidelines for video games in 1995. The only reason a review of the original classification would take place is if the game either contained enough altered content to warrant a new rating or if it was petitioned for re-review. This is why Virtual Console games released after that year are not re-rated: they are essentially unchanged from when they are first classified.
If you had bothered to check the OFLC database, you would have noticed that the three released N64 games (Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Ocarina of Time), which were previously rated upon their original N64 release, were not re-rated for their VC release and have retained their original classification information intact. The only difference is the changing of Zelda's G8+ to a PG rating, the result of shifting to a unified film/television/game rating system in 2005. In fact, the only games that have appeared as being newly classified for VC release were games released prior to the 1995 introduction of video game classifications. By law, these games now must have an OFLC classification in order to be sold to the public and thus appear as newly rated games despite having been previously released and sold prior to 1995.
You also cite the "multiplatform" media category as evidence for a potential VC re-rating. As you can see, while the newly rated VC games use this, the previously mentioned N64 games still retain their original "Game Cart." media category.
In the end, unless Nintendo have somehow greatly expanded the game or upped the violence to Mortal Kombat levels, it is very unlikely that the OFLC will re-rate the game for Virtual Console release. Misterkillboy 23:10, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
And could you not vandalise the pages before discussing it on the talk page first? 60.226.175.68 04:58, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Since it seems that SuperNESPlayer does not believe in reading talk pages or taking evidence and logic into account I suggest leaving what edits he/she reverts until the game is officially released as he/she unfortunately seems pretty stubborn about this. Misterkillboy 07:49, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Let's look at the dates on the three N64 releases, SuperNESPlayer. Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Ocarina of Time all have ratings from as early as 1996. Lylat Wars does not seem to be any different. The VC games that are rated on there are games that were not originally given a rating. As you can see, Donkey Kong Country, Story of Thor, Comix Zone and Vectorman have all been given original ratings on the OFLC database and have clearly not been rated again. The OFLC works differently to the way that the ESRB and the PEGI work. Obviously, some people are pretty lazy and just slap 10 year old ratings onto recent games. 60.226.175.68 21:37, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wii Points Consensus on NA
We appear to have finally managed to hammer out an agreement for article formatting in regards to presentation of the Wii Points information. See the discussion thread here. In the interests of keeping uniformity between the articles and preventing another interminable debate here, would the editors of this article be willing to adopt the new format? Your consent would be appreciated. Thanks. --Cheesemeister3k 20:22, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Without objection... --Cheesemeister3k 08:27, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 75.106.5.167 - Master of Illusion
May I ask, what is Master of Illusion, anyway? You seem positive that its not a VC game. I was under the impression that it was an English title of a Japanese game. 121.208.168.126 23:54, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm not completely positive, but from what I've read elsewhere, it's a Wii title. I can confirm that there is no such game for the TG16 or any other supported VC console. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.106.5.167 (talk) 14:16, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Alright. Thanks for the help! 121.208.168.126 06:44, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Removed Cho Anaki and Ys Book I & II.
After reading through that article again, it makes me think that the fact that Turbo CD was being released in all regions was different from the fact that Cho Anaki and Ys Book I & II were to be some of the first to be released. Those two games are probably going to be Japan-only, especially Cho Anaki, which I can't really see coming out over here. Furthermore, there are no OFLC ratings for either game. Until further evidence, or an OFLC rating for either game, I say they should be left off the list. 121.208.168.171 11:42, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Well in case anybody noticed ys book I & II back in fact for a while now .
I double check the OFLC database via a link in the article . Sure enough theres a rating in the list .

[edit] Removed PEGI rated games Spy vs Spy and Super R-Type
I've decided to remove Spy vs Spy and Super R-Type from the upcoming release list using the reasoning that they don't have an OFLC rating, which is required by law before they are released in Australia. I'd be happy to put them up again when they are given a rating, but at this point I believe it is better to leave them off when they haven't even been authorised for sale in the country. Misterkillboy (talk) 22:46, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- That's probably a good idea. On another note, they were rated by the USK (German rating system), not the PEGI ^_^ 121.208.170.7 (talk) 05:00, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] How to add Sega Master System
I know Nintendo going to put the Master System to the list of consoles & all i need is a suitable citation to prove it's happening . Heres one site saying it here but the news will soon disappear so we need to find something more permanent . Richardson j (talk) 00:18, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Virtual Console in total
- We can't have this section because it contains trivia. For more information see the discussion List of Virtual Console games (North America). Versus22 (talk) 18:40, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Making a second version...
I'm going to make a mirror of this page in my account, and simplify all current titles into one list as an experiment. Note that I will not fold any of my work back in unless there is a common consensus that my version is an improvement. DRS1992 (talk) 10:25, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
