[edit] Merge in List of Peter Griffin's jobs
Suggest merging in List of Peter Griffin's jobs. --John Nagle 18:37, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Bad idea. Merging into article on Peter Griffin is probably a bad idea, too. In fact, take a look at the history of that article. Might give you an idea why the article "List of Peter Griffin's jobs" was created in the first place. Take a look at List of Homer Simpson's jobs while you're at it. - Don't merge. I agree, it's a lousy idea. ShutterBug's probably got the right idea as for the reason, but for everyone's benefit, I'll say it explicitly: the article on Peter Griffin was getting bogged down with listing, among other things, Peter's jobs in throwaway gags. Probably something similar happened some time ago with the article on Homer Simpson. The solution is the same. Cromulent Kwyjibo 21:15, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

- Don't merge but don't delete either. Though it's not yet complete, it's handled better than List of Homer Simpson's jobs, in my opinion. Robert Happelberg 16:27, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

- I think this constitutes a concensus not to merge. Cromulent Kwyjibo 20:23, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sentence in opening paragraph
The following paragraph:
- For a fictional character in a comedy series, his most important jobs are those that affect the continuity of the show. Thus, Peter's job one summer in 1970s as a towel boy at Cherrywood is important because there he met Lois Pewterschmidt, his future wife.
doesn't really belong right at the top of the article, plus I'm not sure the first half makes sense. Mentioning the towel boy job is worthwhile in the correct section, I haven't seen whichever episode this is for a while so I don't remember if it's a cutaway or a more important part of the episode. I've left the sentence there for now, someone else might know where to put the second half.Jimbow25 18:04, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- That was flashbacks in "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater." The backstory established in that episode was further solidified in flashbacks in "Death Lives." Therefore, to classify Peter's job as a towel boy into "Jobs shown in throwaway gags" would be to seriously underestimate that job's backstory importance.
