[edit] "Lost" locations of NH?

I would like to start an article on "lost" locations of NH, i.e., those placenames that have appeared on early maps or other descriptions, but have been obliterated, abandoned, re-named, moved, or subsumed by other locales. For example, here in the North Country, there are places that used to be accessible by railroads that no longer exist, and may only be known locally (if at all) by the old names. Hazen's Mills. Whipple. Jefferson Meadows. Coos (now called North Stratford). Some of these may also have GNIS entries under "Historical" post offices. There are also many geographic features that have been renamed over the years, a fact that may be overlooked in the pertinent main article of such a feature. I propose to name it "Lost places of New Hampshire" under the categories of History of NH and Geography of NH. Any ideas? Comments? Cross references? Lupinelawyer 18:17, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Townships, Grants, Purchases, and Locations

I would like to lump all townships, grants, purchases, and locations into a single category known as "townships". From a governing standpoint, they are all identical -- unincorporated municipalities. "Township" is as good a term for them as any, because it is recognized elsewhere in the United States. (I would have gone ahead and immediately thrown "Locations" in at this point, but I have a Call for Merge posted for the category and want to see what people think.)
