Talk:List of Mauritians

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Removed entries for 'Eric Philippe Jansou' and 'Lee Gregory Albert', added by 216.14.198.54 and expanded by 218.185.94.181, as non-notable and probably bogus. The former has made several constructive edits elsewhere, so these may be real people, but if they're notable Google doesn't know it yet. Most of the latter's other edits have been unhelpful (blanking and copyvio) so the added material looks doubtful. --Calair 06:44, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Would it not be better to break the list into different parts, for example by function or date of birth? The list is long and will surely be getting longer with time.

And should the year of birth and year of death not be given in brakets? E.g: Person Name (1878-1900)for deceased persons and Person Name (1978-) for living persons.--Aeons 07:28, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Why are most of the Musicians been taken off?

We have to do something about the persistance of a user to add "cyber-logger" Yashvin. He is NOT a well-known Mauritian, just a guy with a blog. No significant number of Mauritians know him to be notable.

[edit] Music & Arts

This article concerns prominent mauritians INDIVIDUALS, not groups. For groups, the full name of the individual members should also be included. Maybe like this:

  • Gangsta Beach, Musical Group
    • Member1 (aka artist_name), lead singer
    • Member2, basist
    • Member3, etc

Also, the Music and Arts section is getting too long. It should be broken further. And one is not sure if the persons cited are really notable or not. So please, give your references whenever its possible.

[edit] Survey - in support of the move

  1. Support to conform to Category:Lists of people by nationality. Anyone in this list is supposed be prominent/notable. –Pomte 07:40, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
  2. Support. Current title is redundant and irregular, as per nom and Pomte. Dekimasuよ! 09:45, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
