[edit] Character Names

I have no problem with you using the nihongo template. But if you plan to use it at all, please be consistent and use it for all the character names.

The problem is how to present the character names. Since this animated cartoon series is of Japanese origin, having been broadcast on TV-Asahi since 1992, I suggest placing the original, formal Japanese character names in the highest priority. As it says at the top of the page, "The characters' names follow this order: English, Kanji, and Romaji. The names used in the dubs follow as they appear in that version, if applicable," we should put the English name, then the one in Kanji, and then in Romaji, and then put the names assigned in the dubs. Please keep in mind that names such as Mitsy and Harry are from FUNimation, which is a dub. We should follow the order as it states at the top of the page and put such names at the end. Also, I should remind you that the "English" name would just be a repeat of romaji in most cases as shown in the series, except in standard American nomenclature.

I should also explain that the character descriptions represent mostly the traits of the characters with the original Japanese names. Please be aware that FUNimation has radically changed the dialogues and personalities of the characters so the character descriptions do not represent the traits of the characters in the FUNimation dub. It is advised that you state that you are talking about characters in the dubs should you decide to add details about the characters from the various dubs. For example, Mitsy wants a "boob job." But Misae, from the original series, does not. Even though Mitsy and Misae both refer to the same person, essentially, they're different characters. Crayon Shinchan 21:38, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

For "buriburizaemon", a better explanation would be that "buri buri" is japanese slang for diarrhea.

[edit] Article Cleanup

What exactly is unclear about this article? Should we differentiate character traits from the original and the dubs by creating new pages? Crayon Shinchan 21:39, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Almost everything. The names have to be ordered, and the nihongo template must be used. The whole strucutre is a mess. Check the WP:MANGA. Armando.OtalkEv 23:12, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Matazure Apartment Occupant(s)

I believe in manga there are one more occupants: in indonesian version he(she) is called "Koyuki Susan". Would you please recheck the manga and add to the list. I don't know how to write his(her) name properly. Thanks - Adi Jayanto 06:37, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tokurou's Death

I don't know why there's even a conflict over this. The character died in volume 47 of the comics. After all, this article is about the original Japanese comics and cartoon, so a reference link to a Japanese site that specializes in Shin-chan is sufficient to support that claim. There is no English reference because volume 47 is relatively new and there is no English version for it. It's true that something like this is too "serious for Shin-chan," but the comics and the show have dealt with serious issues. The FUNimation dubs may be all about crude jokes, but the original series is not 100% humor.

I've seen the anime and read the manga in Catalan, and those translations are very close to the original (unlike, for what I read, the USA version). A thing like this is too much serious for this manga and I don't really believe it. Unless you have an English source or a scan of the original manga, I find it difficult to believe it. --Andromeda (talk) 04:28, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] HB?

Any particular reason that there's a bio for Whitey but not for the Happiness Bunny? The Matyr (converse with the Matyr) 05:04, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
