[edit] Merge with Britney Spears?

Call me anti-Britney, but I don't think this page is truly necessary. There's no reason Wikipedia needs to document every award won by Britney or any artist. Wikipedia is not the Internet Movie Database. sɪzlæk [ +t, +c, +m, +e ] 10:28, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

  • Although I also think that Britney is a trashy ho, I think whereelse but Wikipedia can you find such a complete list which is easily accessable. Britney's page is already too big and I dont see any real problem in having such a list...in fact, when an article becomes too long the thing to so is create sister articles. • No, I think it's absolutely needed, have you seen the length of the article? They're already complainting about the length of the Britney Spears page... So adding a lot of awards certainly won't help... -- Luigi-ish 13:27, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Follow Me" Britney award?

Under 2005 u'll find this:

  • BMI Cable Awards- Best Television Theme Song ("Follow Me" from Zoey 101)

But isn't this song sung by Jamie Lynn Spears? Yes, so why should it be categorized under a Britney award? -- Luigi-ish 13:02, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Because she wrote it. Myrockstar 07:56, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nominations

It is unclear if all these awards have been won by Britney Spears. If it is the case, perhaps nominations should be added as well.Myrockstar 11:10, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List inaccuracies

I think the inclusion of the two Emmy awards in Britney's award list is inaccurate. As I understand it, these were technical awards for production people on programs that happened to feature Britney. Crediting her with winning them is highly misleading.

Also, the list does not include Britney's two Golden Raspberry Awards. She won two in 2002, for worst actress (tied with Madonna) and worst original song, both from Crossroads.--Plane nutz (talk) 15:34, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Agreed. I have made the changes. Incidentally, Britney also won a Razzie in 2004 for Worst Supporting Actress in Fahrenheit 9/11 -- this has also been added.--64.201.38.62 (talk) 14:31, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Note to user that deleted the edit discussed above -- Why didn't you discuss it first, as the users above have done? The rationale for the change seems entirely sensible to me -- the two Emmy awards credited to Britney are actually technical awards for direction and camerawork for a show featuring her. She had nothing to do with the awards, apart from being the subject of the program. As for the Razzie awards -- Those are awards, which Britney actually won (although it isn't considered an honor to do so), and other sites like IMDB list Razzies among a stars list of awards. I think their inclusion here is justified. Other opinions?--Plane nutz (talk) 15:46, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
I agree that the IMDB model is a valid precedent, so I am restoring the Razzie awards.--Wee Charlie (talk) 14:28, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
