Letsee, theres alot of stuff that need articles.

I myself personally own Asterix (Snes), Great Rescue (Megadrive), Asterix (Master System), Asterix and the Secret Mission (Master System) and Power of the Gods (Megadrive) so I could probably start articles for those. I've also played Asterix (NES) and Asterix (Game Boy) through to completion.

The movies are also quite urgent - considering the amount of people I know whom grew up with the Asterix Movies. (Inclduing myself) - I own all of them, AND the Box Set DVD, if need be, I could start articles on those too, altough I don't own the books to Asterix in Britain, Asterix the Gladitor, Big Fight or Soothsayer, so I can't make comparsions to those.

I DO own the books to the rest of them, so I can note changes made to them if needed.

Now the problem is - noting differences in storyline doesn't really need citatons does it? If it does then it's going to be near impossible due to the fact no-where covers it.

I am impressed by wikipedia's coverage of the Asterix books, but the Movies and Games really need covering PROPERLY. Theres no reason for them not to get their own articles, and I highly doubt anyone would object. --ACE Spark 19:33, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm actually researching for articles on "Thr Big Fight" (movie - currently a stub) & "Asterix Conquers Americz" (new) — ie. the remaining animated movies with separate novelizations ... The Live movies could use it too but from where I am I have no access to source material.
I'm not so sure about the games — once they're past their prime games become a historical footnote since they become nearly unavailable due to changes in programming capacity, platform, graphics, etc. (unlike movies which are simple to transfer to new media - these were all recently released on DVD). Personally I think this article should split into separate Movie & Game lists ...--Invisifan 20:43, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

If games like Pulseman can get articles, then surely the Asterix games can. They're no less notable. I have a Magazine somewhere and the Asterix (Master System) game was crictically acclaimed back on its release. As for the Live Action movies - I have the first but not the second. --82.36.19.218 21:35, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

four of the games current have their own article — I'd say start another for any that are really notable (but note at least one of the existing articles is still a stub) ... I'd support splitting this into 2 separate lists (aside from animation, movies & games have little in common) and putting extra information on the games in the games list — and separate entries for the more notable.--Invisifan 06:18, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Proposal

I propose splitting this into 2 separate articles: renaming this article to List of Asterix films and creating a separate List of Asterix games which would contain the current video game list plus the various (3) types of game books (of which there currently are 7)... This gives the game books a "place to live" and separates the essentially unrelated movie & gaming material in a logical manner. If you have any objections, state them here & now--Invisifan 12:51, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fait Accompli

Since no one objected (or commented even) List of Asterix games is now a separate article. I've also (as threatened) greatly expanded Asterix and the Big Fight (film)and will shortly add an Asterix Conquers America article ... if you don't like it -- edit away.--Invisifan 18:59, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
