[edit] Woodchucks "introduced" to Alaska?
i met a biologist at the university in fairbanks who wrote a paper on marmots traveling by way of automobile undercarriage for potentially hundreds of miles at a time. seems they have an unusual resistance to antifreeze poisoning, and so sometimes they accidentally go along for a ride. he figured they spread north and west as the prairie was settled and the forest opened up. guess i'll have to look him up .... - Metanoid (talk, email) 04:49, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
