Talk:List of 2007 national Grands Prix

[edit] Complexities
In a way I like this idea, but as Chris Ssk points out here, there's often more than one national motorsport grand prix per year. For example, what's the status of the 2007 British motorcycle Grand Prix and the 2006-07 A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Great Britain etc? 4u1e (talk) 16:55, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- You've answered your own question, those two events have excluding qualifiers built into their names. --Falcadore (talk) 20:08, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Are you sure? The A1GP is a 'car racing event Grand Prix'. There's nothing in the description that eliminates it. Where there is no F1 GP in a country, how do you define (without OR) which of the possibly several car racing GPs in that country is the one that should be listed here? 4u1e (talk) 20:28, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- What you mean apart from 'A1GP'? --Falcadore (talk) 20:47, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's relatively simple. There will generally be only one Biddlonian Grand Prix. The others will be refered to as Biddlonian A1 Grand Prix, or Biddlonian Motorcyle Grand Prix or Biddlonian Motorised Chess Piece Grand Prix. They have court cases over this sort of thing so that different events don't have the same name. Look at the silliness between Nurburgring and Hockenheim. The simplest explanations often work best, don't over think it. --Falcadore (talk) 21:43, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
