Frost Bank Tower is currently the tallest building in Austin.
This list of tallest buildings in Austin ranks skyscrapers in Austin by height. The tallest building in the city is currently the Austin 360 Condominiums Tower, which rises 564 feet (172 meters).[1] It is currently toppped out, and scheduled for completion in mid-2008. The tallest completed building in Austin is the Frost Bank Tower, which has a height of 515 feet (157 meters) and was completed in 2004.[2]
The history of skyscrapers in Austin began with the construction of the Scarborough Building in 1910, which is often regarded as the first skyscraper in Austin.[3] Austin went through a skyscraper boom in the 1970s and 1980s, which resulted in the construction of more than 30 of the tallest buildings in Austin. The boom ended in the late 1980s. The city is going through a second building boom, with 42 buildings under construction, approved, or proposed.[4] No Austin buildings are currently among the tallest in the United States.
